The Start of a Great Year

WOW it amazes me at how quickly time flies by.  It's crazy to believe that January is already over and we are now onto February.  I hope to see a lot of new changes and fun things going on this year.  I don't believe in New Year Resolutions but do believe in making changes in your life for the better.  There have been a few events over the past few months that have really opened my eyes and I have realized there are a few very important things in my life that need improving upon.

This past Thanksgiving we were able to  go up into the mountains of Idyllwild California for a couple of days at a cute little cabin.  It was so wonderful to see everyone and to catch up each others lives.  I love having the chance to see my extended family, I just wish that we all didn't live so far apart.  Well we ended up having to leave a little early but Saturday morning we got a phone call from my sister.  My mom had a heart attack in the middle of the night and was taken to the hospital, talk about feeling bad about having to leave.  She ended up have full blockage in one of her arteries and 90% blockage in the other.  She had a stint placed in her heart and was in the hospital for a couple of days.  Come to find out that this is what my Grandfather, my moms dad, passed away from.  Anyhow, she is doing much better these days and oh how grateful I am for that.  This was a very eye opening experience for all of us in our family and it makes you realize just how much your family means to you.  I love my mom more than I could imagine.

It truly made me realize that I need to be healthier and my family as well.  I may be on the skinnier side but that doesn't make me healthy.  I need to start being more active with the girls and going to the gym or working out somehow at home.  I will say that it makes it hard when the girls or anyone else is sick in the house, but enough excuses!  My main goal for the year is to be healthier with what I eat, the activities that we do, not spend so much time inside when possible and to get physically fit as well.  That is my major goal for this coming year, it's going to be challenging but oh so worth it.

Another motivating factor to getting healthy all around, we are going to go to Aruba in October with some really good friends for about a week!  Oh and we aren't taking the girls with us!  It's going to be the first real big vacation that we have ever taken before, and the first for Wes in who knows how long.  So needless to say that after having two children my body isn't what I would like it to be.  I want to be able to spend my time on the beach and the resort comfortable in a swim suit and not having to be self conscious of how I feel about myself.  I know it sounds lame to some but it's just how I am.  So I need to get my bum in gear!

Since I have been slacking in my blogging I am going to schedule it on my calendar to do once a week, that also means that I need to take more pictures.  I just realized today that it's been quite a while since I have taken any.  I need to be better at that so that I can capture the memories of my girls.  For now instead of going through and trying to update everything in the past couple of months I will give a little recap.  Kaleigh turned One this past November and started walking right before Christmas.  Now she is all over the place and rarely crawls any more and is almost at a run when she walks, she even rides her little trike.  She also has started trying to talk, I think once she really starts talking she's going to be so much happier.  Here are some of her words:
Moma
Dad
Dog
Duck
Quack
Hi
Thank you
Roar
Cookie
Baby

Tatum as usual is a little spit fire herself!  She loves her dance class, getting to play with her little friends but she really likes her teacher Miss Mindy, who is awesome with the girls.  She is a talker and loves to carry on a conversation with just about anyone, she usually isn't that shy.  She's only two and a half but she gets mistaken for a 3-4 year old on a regular basis.  For Christmas she got one of those balance bikes without the peddles and LOVES it!  She's a little stubborn, don't know where she got that from, but is doing pretty good, I imagine that in a few months she will be doing so much better.  They keep me busy but that's what having two girls only 15 months apart will do to you!

KALEIGH'S NEW BEDDING:

This month I finally figured out what I wanted to do with the Birthday money that Kaleigh received from her First Birthday from my Aunt Sandy.  I found the most adorable fabric from Hobby Lobby, the store is trouble, and thought that with my mom's help we could do a new baby bumper for Kaleigh!  All I did was take apart one of the old bumpers that we had so that it was just the plain bumper batting.  So over a couple of weeks I cut out the fabric and my mom did the sewing of the baby bumper.  We even made the cutest pillow ever to go with it and teething guards so she can't chew on the railing of the crib, courtesy of: www.babyrabies.com/2009/02/shes-crafty/.  In doing this project I really want to  learn how to sew!  There are so many cute little crafts and gifts that I really want to make for  me, the girls, for gifts for people.  I just have to get a sewing machine so that I'm not constantly having to go over to my mom's house, not that it's a bad thing.

BLESSINGS IN 2012:

Last year I found this amazing idea for a cute little scrapbook book that I decided to do for this year, it's based on this website:  www.writeclickscrapbook.com/write_click_scrapbook/2010/11/thankful-.html . I made my own version of the book with pages that will be added as we go, it's nothing fancy but it is cute and gets the job done!  Oh let's not forget to mention that I found it on my new favorite addicting website, Pinterest!  I have found that despite how difficult the day has been I am always able to find something positive and that I am grateful for.  It's a very nice way to sit for a moment and reflect on my day and all of the many blessings that I have been given.

In case you are wondering I will post pictures, I just have to download them onto the other computer and do this from there!  I will do it soon, I promise!

Halloween 2011

I know that a lot has happened but I wanted to post a few pictures of the girls from Halloween this year.  Tatum wanted to be Snow White and Kaleigh was Minnie Mouse this year, too cute!  Next year we will be able to better coordinate the girls and their costumes, that's an advantage to having two girls so close together, I love it!  Oh I forgot to mention that just for Halloween we told Tatum that she would get to wear some of Moms makeup and she was so excited to put it on and be a big girl like Mom.

Miss Tatum as Snow White

Little Miss Kaleigh as Minnie Mouse

This year we went Trick or Treating with our good friends the Richardsons in their neighborhood and had a great time.  This time Tatum was old enough to comprehend the whole Trick or Treat concept and had the time of her life going door to door saying Trick or Treat and getting candy!

A Season for Change

These past few months have brought significant changes in our family that we are so very grateful for!  We were able to move out of Johnson Ranch over to the Chandler area after living there for 6 and a half years. We love our new beautiful home and the fact that we are now closer to family and friends.  Oh and did I mention it doesn't take an hour to get any where now, which is AWESOME!!

It just amazes me at how quickly the time flies and how fast my precious little girls are growing up on me.  When we moved here Kaleigh was capable of crawling all over the place and now she is one years old and almost walking!  I can't believe it, my baby is getting so big!  Here are just a couple of pics of her and Tatum since we have moved.

So I think that she looks a lot like Wes, especially when she smiles, I love it!

I love that the older the girls get the more that they want to play together and be together.  These days Tatum is even willing to play with her sister and seems to love her so much.  Funny story about the girls loving each other.  One day Wes and I were out running errands or something and had to take 2 separate vehicles and so he took Tatum and I took Kaleigh with me.  The whole time that I had Kaleigh with me in the car she cried, I had no clue why at the time.  Finally we met back up with Wes and Tatum and I put Kaleigh in the truck with Tatum and the moment she saw Tatum her world was okay again.  It became very clear to me just how much Kaleigh loves and needs her big sister.

They love to rough house with each other!

These Girls are CRAZY

So I was having a hard time thinking of anything creative to call my blog of our family on the fly.  Just as I was about to give up the girls started getting crazy on me as usual and that's where the title came from.  Ever since Tatum was little I always told her that she was crazy and now she will even say all by herself, "I'm crazy!"  But I guess all little kids that are 2 years old and 10 months old are pretty crazy but let me tell you having two of them only 15 months apart seems to make things a bit more crazy!  I wouldn't change a thing, I love my girls to pieces!!

Kaleigh is awesome at making the funniest faces and I seem to  capture them a lot of the time!

Someone was having a bit of a melt down
It seems as though Tatum started hitting the terrible twos a little early for my liking, I think she was probably about 18 months or so when she started getting feisty with me!  Despite the fact that she is a girl and filled with drama of all sorts she is the sweetest thing ever.  One of the first phrases that she learned all on her own was "Love You" and she says it all of the time.  It melts my heart every time she says it.

Tatum and her dad were having fun with a little mini nerf gun and she was giggling the entire time they were playing together.

Bath Time!

So just in the past couple of months I have started giving the girls their baths together but only when Wes is home so that he can help out at the very end.  They LOVE it!  I think that Kaleigh likes to be in the big girls bath tub with Tatum, who could really care less, but they still play really well together and make a huge mess with their splashing.

Ever since Kaleigh was born she has always had more hair on the very top of her head then the rest of her head.  So it makes it really easy to give her a mohawk with shampoo, even though she's a little girl.

Brand New Blog

So I decided that after having a few issues with our other blog that I would start with a clean slate!  So here we go on the adventures of us and our two crazy little girls.  This is going to be short to start with only because Kaleigh is just waking up from a nap and that means I have to stop for a little while.
